Extract of letter to FORUM dated 1st November 2007 from our clients, the former owners of The Rothesay Hotel in Highcliffe, Dorset (www.rothesayhotel.net) :
To whom it may concern
We spent some time researching various commercial estate agents (we do have previous experience of selling commercial property) and after an initial meeting and valuation with FORUM, decided to work with FORUM.
Obviously our main concerns were to sell the business reasonably quickly and at an acceptable price, the prediction from FORUM was that the process from start to finish would take six months.
FORUM processed the paperwork speedily and advertised in the Caterer [& Hotelkeeper] and Daltons Weekly, the response was almost immediate and within the first months we had two purchasers, unfortunately both fell through, but another was waiting in the wings and this followed through to completion.
The final price achieved was higher than the first two offers, this was down to FORUM negotiating confidently on our behalf and maintaining meticulous contact with us and our purchaser, "never letting the grass grow under their feet".
Our experience was most favourable and when we sell our present business, we shall return to them again, should you wish to contact us and ask any further questions, we shall be delighted to answer them.
Yours sincerely
